The Warman Multi-Purpose Facility Committee Inc. is holding its final year of annual fundraisers in support of the construction of a second arena for The Legends Centre in Warman, SK. While WSCV events are still thriving, it is time to allow other local groups an opportunity to take the reins and raise funds for a new causes in Warman. This year will be the final Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction, and the last WSCV NHL Hockey Draft Spectacular and Adult Community Hockey Tournament will be held in the spring of 2020. The Warman Multi-Purpose Committee was founded in 2004 by a group of local individuals who saw the need for a year-round complex that residents of Warman and surrounding area could access for all of their sport, culture and recreational needs. Through numerous donation campaigns and fundraisers this dream became a reality when The Legends Centre first opened its doors in December of 2011. This 100,000 sq./ft facility features a regulations size arena, leisure ice surface for young skaters, two large multi-sport gymnasiums, three multi-purpose rooms and boardrooms. There are a variety of on-site businesses including Booster Juice, Subway, Twinses Café and Restaurant, Anytime Fitness, Pro Sport Rehab and Warman Sports Inc. Since the opening of The Legends Centre Warman has seen an increase in the formation of new community groups and the expansion of existing ones. The Warman Multi-purpose Committee began to see a need for more ice time and shifted their total fundraising goal of $500,000 for the addition of a second ice surface for The Legends Centre. The WSCV committee would like to thank those who have supported each of the fundraising efforts since inception in 2004. Without donations and endless volunteer hours by many individuals, groups and businesses this fundraising goal would never have been achieved. Thank you for choosing to support the growth of Sport, Culture and Recreation services in the community of Warman! Together we are changing lives and creating healthy and positive choices for our future generations.
