Clean up that hazardous clutter!
Warman, it is time to clear out your hazardous waste! The annual Household Hazardous Waste Day is set for operation from 9am to 3pm on Saturday October 19th, 2019 at the Warman Fire Hall (501 Centennial Blvd). This annual event allows Warman residents to dispose of household hazardous waste items, electronics (e-waste) and rimless scrap tires. The goal is to divert chemicals, liquids and environment threatening items from being disposed in landfills or other methods. Many items that expire, like medications, batteries, propane tanks, automotive batteries are accepted at the event. Paint, paint cans, oil, expired fuels, ink, ink cartridges, cleaning chemicals and other corrosive products are collected and disposed of or recycled responsibly. The items need to be identified either by the product label or by the resident to qualify for acceptance. A rigours testing requirement would be required for any accepted product lacking identification, driving up the costs of the program. Rimless tires and old electronics and components are collected also. Printers, keyboards, cameras, televisions, monitors and similar items are also collected for disposal. Due to costs of this event, it is limited to Warman residents only. ID is required to prove Warman residency prior to entry. |
