The following is the local media release for the Warman Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for the week of July 8, 2019 to July 15, 2019.
Police received 173 calls for service from July 8, 2019 to July 15, 2019.
Traffic:
2019-07-08 at 9:30 a.m. Police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle leaving Saskatoon northbound on Highway 12. Police conducted patrols of the area and located the truck. A group of youths were inside of the truck and were taken into custody. They were released a short time later on charges of theft and possession of stolen property charges. There were no injuries. July 8, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Centennial drive south in Martensville. The caller reported that the driver was swerving all over the road. Police conducted patrols of the area, but were unable to locate any vehicles matching the description provided. July 8, 2019 at 8:20 p.m. Police received a complaint of a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign in Martensville. Police located the 19 year old male driver from Yorkton and issued him a ticket for failing to stop at a stop sign. July 11, 2019 at 3:25 p.m. Police received a complaint of a 2 vehicle accident on Highway 305 near Dalmeny. Police attended and issued a ticket to an 85 year old male driver for failing to obey a stop sign. There were no injuries. July 12, 2019 at 7:50 a.m. Police received a complaint of a 2 vehicle accident on Highway 305 near Dalmeny. Police attended the scene and found that a vehicle failed to stop due to a downed stop sign. The stop sign was put back into place to prevent further accidents at that location. There were no charges or injuries. July 12, 2019 at 4:15 p.m. Police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Central street in Warman. The caller was concerned that a person who left a business there was driving while impaired. Police conducted patrols of the area, but were unable to locate any vehicles matching the description provided. July 12, 2019 at 8:10 p.m. Police received a complaint of an impaired driver on Valley Road near Saskatoon. The 24 year old male driver from Saskatoon was taken back to the Detachment to provide a breath sample. He was released a short time later for an upcoming court date on impaired driving charges. There were no injuries.

July 11, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. Police received a complaint of theft of construction equipment from a business near Osler. The caller advised that they just noticed the equipment missing recently. Investigation into this matter is ongoing. July 11, 2019 at 1:40 p.m. Police received a complaint of an attempted break in to a business in Martensville. The caller reported that no entry was gained to the property.

July 8, 2019 at 6:15 p.m. Police received a complaint of an intoxicated male walking on Highway 11 near Saskatoon. Police conducted patrols of the area and located a 39 year old male from Big River First nation. He was not intoxicated, but rather just tired from walking. He was provided a ride to a safe location as he requested. There were no charges. July 9, 2019 at 10:50 a.m. Police received a complaint of a hitch hiker in medical distress on Highway 11 near Warman. Police attended the location and spoke with the 34 year old male from Cumberland House. He was not in medical distress, but he was thirsty. He was provided a ride to a safe location. There were no charges or injuries. July 9, 2019 at 4:15 p.m. Police received a complaint of 2 people sleeping in the ditch along Highway 11 near Warman. Police attended the location and spoke to the 34 year old female and the 44 year old male, both from One Arrow First Nation. They were attempting to walk home. They were provided a ride to a safe location. There were no charges or injuries. July 10, 2019 at 8:45 p.m. Police received a complaint of a large group of people causing a disturbance in Warman. The caller advised that the people were stunting in their vehicles, causing a disturbance. Police attended the location and issued a ticket to an 18 year old male from Saskatoon for driving without a valid drivers license. The vehicle was seized and towed from the scene. July 11, 2019 at 3:10 p.m. Police received a complaint of an intoxicated male laying in the parking lot of a church in Warman. Police attended the location and arrested the 64 year old male from Duck Lake. He was lodged in police cells until he was sober. July 13, 2019 at 6:30 a.m. Police received a complaint of a possible assault at a residence in Asquith. Police attended the residence and arrested a 23 year old male from Asquith. He was released on documents for an upcoming court date on Assault charges. The 23 year old female was not injured. Everyone is invited to attend. Martensville RCMP are advising residents of Martensville that “Coffee with a Cop” is at Tim Horton’s in Martensville. Martensville July 30th, 2019 @ 10:00 o’clock RCMP members will be at Martensville Tim Hortons for a chance to ask questions and to get to know the police officers in your city. Everyone is invited to attend. Section 212(3) of the Traffic Safety Act refers: fail to stop 5 m from the rear of a school bus that has its safety lights and stop arm in operation. The fine for this infraction is $360.00 fine.
