Accessible Playground Project on 3rd Ave South:

The RFP for the Accessible Playground Project closed on June 26, 2019 for the supply and install of an accessible playground structure with a pour in place rubber fall zone. The scope of the work presented in the RFP were as follows:

  • The installation of an accessible play structure and pour-in-place rubber paving, costing no more than $285,000 plus GST, will be at Prairie Oasis Park. Access to the site shall be through the park access gate on 3rd Ave South.

  • The removal of the existing play structures, removal of existing aggregate and wood border, marking of water lines and utility locates will be completed by the City.

  • The site excavation, base preparation, installation of equipment, and rubber paving shall be completed by the Contractor. Work is to be complete by October 25, 2019.

The City of Warman has taken the liberty of reaching out a number of resources, including Sask Abilities Council, Camp Easter Seal, City of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Parks & Recreation Association (SPRA) and Saskatoon Health Region for their opinion on the designs and styles to consider.

Warman City Council approved the project at the Regular Meeting of Council, July 15, 2019.
